Is Captain America really an Agent of Hydra?

CaptainAmericaSteveRogers_Cov1-720x1093

In last 10 years, Steve Rogers has been dead, time displaced, given up his mantle to Bucky and lost his super soldier abilities. For the last few months, Falcon has served the mantle of Captain America while Steve Rogers spent his time monitoring Avengers as a wrinkly old man. After the events of Avengers Standoff, we hoped that Captain America will return again, but like always there was a twist. Marvel turned Captain America an agent of Hydra.

captainamerica-comic-hydrarecruit-700x367

In an unexpected turn of events, we found out that Steve Rogers has been a sleeper agent of Hydra all this time. His mother used to attend secret Hydra meetings. Rogers was prepred to become an agent of Hydra all his life and something triggered (?) it.

Now, while the internet is outraging, it made me wonder why Marvel would do so. The Peter Parker of this universe is driving a Spider mobile and is founder of a startup called Parker industries. In the past, the internet outraged when he was mind swapped with Doc Ock in Dan Slott’s Superior Spiderman’s run. I always have hopes from twists like these, Iron Man has always been some sort of anti-hero and Bruce Banner is too cool to not give a fuck about it.

The post Secret wars Marvel universe is filled with some interesting twists. We have met the sentient version of Tesarract or cosmic cube. We have met Kobic, the living cosmic cube with the power of altering reality. While all this time it was hinted that she belongs to the good side, but who knows that someone like Baron Zemo or Red Skull who have been after the secret of cube for so long have learned how to control it.

What if they finally realized that it is not Captain America they need to defeat but the idea of being Captain America?

What if they made Kobic alter the reality and time?

It will be interesting how his allies will bring the Steve Rogers back to his senses.

Top 10 Superhero Teams

57569-avengers_400
We all know that there’s a lot of Superhero Super Teams formed in the whole comic universe, but ever wonder which one is arguably the strongest? Better? The answer to that is no, no one is better than the rest of them, there all doing the same thing over and over again, they are just simply saving the world from terror , but it is up to you to rank them as your own.

Superhero Teams have been an incredibly large part of the superhero genre. Since of the inception of the first superhero team, The Justice League of America, comic fans have loved the interaction of their favorite heroes fighting evil. The following list based on fans pick for the top ten superhero teams. Each of the groups below takes into account the different incarnations and variations of those said teams, such as the Ultimate line of comics.

Here is a list of the TOP 10 superhero teams that was voted by fans in my opinion
1 – X-MEN
simone-bianchi-astonishing-x-men-28-jan-21-2009
The X-Men came about at a time of great strife and have long mirrored many of society’s issues about fearing those that are different then the rest of us. The X-Men take the top of the list due to many reasons. They have long been one of the most popular comics in history and have spawned a mountain of, “X-Titles.” Multiple cartoons, TV series, and now movies have made The X-Men a juggernaut in the world of comics.
2 –Justice League of America (JLA)
Justice_League_(Earth-16)
The Justice League of America is comprised of the top superheroes of the DC universe. With a roster full of A-list powerhouses, the JLA is arguably the toughest superhero team in existence. The JLA has been a huge part of the DC universe and has been widely popular since its inception.
3 – Fantastic Four
Fantastic_Four_Vol_1_525_Textless
The Fantastic Four is the first of the superhero teams to bring about a real humanness to the genre. With real world problems surfacing in the comic, this first, “family” of superheroes has been an incredible force in comics. Movies, cartoons, and more make the FF not number four, but three.
4 – Avengers
the-avengers
The Avengers assemble in position number four. There have been many different incarnations of the Avengers, such as the West Coast and Great Lakes avengers. With the latest comics The Ultimates and the New Avengers, The Avengers have rocketed to new heights. A movie is in the works based on The Ultimates and when it does, The Avengers will be knocking on the doors of numbers one through three.
5 – Teen Titans
large
The Teen Titans have had a rocky past, but presently, they are enjoying great success. A hugely popular cartoon has made the Teen Titans a smash hit with younger audiences and the comic has had an impressive run on the charts and with comic book fans.

6 – Guardians of The Galaxy

gotg3-1364326933

Guardians of the Galaxy has gone through a number of changes and is one of the most amazing teams of dysfunctional characters in comics. The current series lead by Star Lord is an amazing team with foul mouthed Rocket Raccoon, kind Groot, feared assasin Gamora and deadly Drax. Guardians of the galaxy has been part of some of the most popular cosmic adventures and has a cult following among Marvel fans.

7 – Justice Society of America (JSA)
jerry-ordweay-earth-2-jsa
The Justice Society of America has recently seen a rebirth into the world of comics. With a group of superheroes thought of as has beens and second stringers, the JSA have quickly shown that it has what it takes in the world of comics. We can also thank the JSA for being the first superhero team comic book. The success that JSA had early on spurred on the other comic companies to follow suit. Thanks JSA.
8 –  League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
the_league_of_extraordinary_gentlemen_fox
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen broke the boundaries of what is a “superhero team.” Comprised of some of the most popular characters in literature. The series was brought to us by superstar writer Alan Moore. Although they haven’t been around a long time and the book has been plagued with issues between Moore and DC, it is still a great comic book team.
9 –  The Defenders
Defenders_(Earth-12131)_001
The power cosmic, magic, brute strength and more make up this team equivalent to the superhero odd couple. The Defenders have a great history behind them and the latest incarnation of this superhero team has been widely accepted by fans. The Defenders are a rising star in the world of superhero teams.
10 – The Authority
79048-53964-the-new-authority
The Authority are one of the few superhero teams not from the big two, (Marvel and DC) but Wildstorm Publishing company, to make it onto the list. Although their might may have waned in recent years, The Authority is still ranked high on the list for how it has pushed the boundaries of comic books. The Authority is ultra violent, politically charged, and boasted the first openly gay couple. These items make The Authority controversial, talked about, and one of the top superhero teams of all time.

Review – Ant Man 2015

Ant-Man-Promo-Art-Features-Yellowjacket

Ant-Man is more than a comic book movie. It takes viewers on a thrill ride through the world of science fiction physics. The smaller the size of the movie is, compared to that the characters are complex, charismatic people, whose relationships go through ups and downs every now and then. These characters are so well written that they appear as convincing players in an otherworldly premise suspending our concept of reality, once we buy in, well-placed humorous references poke fun at the day-to-day environment we take for granted.

Created in 1962 by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby, Ant Man has been a B-List Marvel character even after being one of the founding members of The Avengers. In a failed attempt by Edgar Wright to bring the shrinking superhero to the big screen when he wrote a script for the project and further went on to develop the film for 8 years. Finally in 2014, he was set to direct Ant-Man for the now successful Marvel Studios. He left the project with a mutual agreement with Marvel Studios due to creative differences. Yes Man director Peyton Reed then took over. As Wright was adored by critics, many have wondered whether Ant-Man would turn out to be Marvel’s first failure due to his absence.

24-Ant-Man-Review-2

Even with Peyton Reed calling the shots this movie feels like an Edgar Wright film. He and Joe Cornish are still credited with story and part of the screenplay (the latter shared with Adam McKay and Paul Rudd). And if you are a fan of Wright’s work, you’ll be able to pick his parts of the film out almost immediately.

The film is filled with Edgar Write trademark style. The movie has prominently used jump-cut scenes in a very humorous way. Something that is Edgar Write is known for, where he presents a part of the story in a series of staccato images that say what they need to say in a concise and exciting way. In my opinion, it’s a trait that proves his genius and a big part of what I love about his films.

Screen-Shot-2015-04-13-at-10.04.28-AM

The film opens as Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) leaves prison after a three year sentence for a Robin Hood-like bit of computer theft. He wants to start a clean life so he can provide a good role model for his daughter Cassie (Abby Ryder Forston), but he’s not even able to keep a job at Baskin-Robbins due to his criminal record. He gets on a heist job with an old prison pal Luis (Michael Peña) and agrees for a job at home of an ex-military guy.

Paul Rudd is comes out as an awkwardly charming good guy with a witty sense of humor. He’s just weirdly adorable like a cross-over between Tony Stark and Peter Quill with more humility. Hank Pym though, is an ass. Which is not surprising considering he mostly is exasperating in comic books.

ant-man-movie-poster-fan-made

Rudd’s co-stars are all equally on fine form as Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly both deliver solid performances as Hank Pym and Hope van Dyne. Oscar award winner Douglas fully commits to  the role as the secretive ex scientist Pym while Lilly’s ice queen van Dyne is as serious as her bob haircut. The film’s most dramatic scenes arise from the strained father-daughter relationship between the two which plays out very well.

But it is Michael Pena who steals the movie with his crazy fast narratives. He plays Lang’s motor mouthed best bud Luis and steals almost every scene he’s in. The flashback scenes where he narrates the lines of others in his own wild words produce some of the films biggest laughs.

Ant-Man-Movie-Review-Image-71

And as expected from a Marvel movie, Ant-Man is a blend of action and comedy. When Ant-Man shrinks for the first time, he has to avoid death by bathwater, clubbers, a hoover and a rat in a visually stunning sequence.

After the huge city smashing destruction earlier in the year from Avengers: Age of Ultron (which is snarkily referenced by Hank Pym) there was a need for Marvel to scale back the stakes in order to keep things fresh. Ant-Man certainly brings something new to the table as, on the whole, it feels very different to anything else in the crowded comic-book movie market.

antman-screenshot-header

Ant Man comes with its flaws but Marvel has tries its best to keep it grounded and more personal on every level. Next time when we see Ant Man in Captain America: Civil War it is going to be a whole new level of awesome.

Marvel Studios Phase 3 line up: Thoughts and Analysis

Marvel-Phase-Three-550x433

Marvel has finally revealed its plans for Phase 3 that will start soon after Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out followed by Ant Man that will end Phase 2 and Phase 3 will start in 2016.  Before I move on here is the Phase 3 line up:

May 6, 2016 – Captain America: Serpent Society… SCRATCH THAT!  It will be titled Captain America: Civil War

November 4, 2016 – Doctor Strange

May 5, 2017 – Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (has been moved up from its previous July release date)

July 28, 2017 – Thor Ragnarok

November 3, 2017 – Black Panther

May 4, 2018 – Avengers: Infinity War Part 1

July 6, 2018 – Captain Marvel

November 2, 2018 – Inhumans

May 3, 2019 – Avengers: Infinity War Part 2

Phase 3 from the set of announcements and the little that we already know about these movies, the MCU isn’t just shifting, but the entire MCU suffering from it’s own growing pains in the roughest way. There are a new slew of characters that are being introduced in Phase 3. With all new characters and what seem to be very firm endings to a number of characters that previously anchored the MCU. Those changes will majorly effect the MCU through Phase 3 and then in the future with Phase 4.

Civil War Captain America

Captain America: Civil War May 6th, 2016: With Captain America 3: Civil War it seems that maybe Age of Ultron will not end on a high note.  For those who do not know the comics, Civil War is a story line that pits comic book heroes against each other after a bill to be passed by the government for heroes to give up their identities to the public.  Iron Man, Tony Stark, is for this while Captain America, Steve Rogers, is against.  It also is the beginning of the end for Rogers because shortly after Civil War, Fallen Son takes place with Rogers being killed.  I believe Part 2 of the Infinity Wars will be the repercussions of Rogers death in Part 1.  I can definitely believe Bucky or Falcon will be taking the mantle of Captain America.

Doctor Strange November 4th, 2016: We already knew Scott Derickson was attached to direct. However, for a long time we had no idea who would be portraying Stephen Strange on the big screen. Sure, nothing has been officially confirmed, but Benedict Cumberbatch will likely land the part as he is in final negotiations. Doctor Strange opens a very different door into the Marvel Universe. Until now, everything we saw had a very solid explanation, many of which were based in science fiction. Even everything cosmic about Asgard and it’s inhabitants felt ethereal, but also had a sense of science fiction to. The movies went as far to say that what we from Earth may see as magic was really just science we didn’t understand. Doctor Strange may eliminate that sentiment as he brings magic to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There is also an interesting new dynamic that he brings to the Cinematic Universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 May 5th, 2017

Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-2-Movie-Logo-Official-300x150
Marvel made it clear that they had a lot of faith in Guardians of the Galaxy. They knew it was their biggest risk, but they took it anyway. Honestly, it’s worked out very well for them as Guardians of the Galaxy is the largest domestic release of 2014 ($328M) and 3rd largest internationally ($752M) (and honestly it’s only 5 million away from being number 2). Guardians was a massive hit and generally well loved. The movie did brilliantly and it makes sense that they would come back for more. Especially since Guardians has easy connections to Thanos and the upcoming Infinity War movies. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will likely see the crew dropped into an even worse situation than before. We will likely also see the results of this film trickle into Thor: Ragnarok as space and the cosmos go together nicely.

Thor: Ragnarok July 28th, 2017
The title of this film took me back and made me shed a tear. Sure, Thor is not the most loved franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s most often cast to the side, but it has never been outright bad. Maybe I am just so enthralled by Asgard that I’ve connected to the place and the title Ragnarok scares me. In case you don’t know Ragnarok is almost like another word for apocalypse. It is the end of the world with many of the major heroes and figures in Norse mythology die. Dead as doornails, dead. The Marvel comics have had their own versions of Ragnarok in the past and guess what, many people died there too. With A blatant title like Ragnarok for the third Thor movie it screams bad news for those involved. When you line up the deaths in the traditional Norse mythology with the MCU characters we’ve been introduced to, you are looking at the deaths of Thor, Odin, Loki, and Heimdall.

blackpantherartBlack Panther November 3, 2017:

Marvel also took the jump and will have a black character head their own movie. I don’t think they could have chosen anyone better as T’Challa is a fascinating character in his own right. T’Challa is King of Wakanda. There are far fewer ways to assert a black character as important than letting the first one getting a solo film being a king. T’Challa’s politics will undoubtedly play a role in his story. He will also be introduced a few films earlier in Captain America: Civil War. How exactly T’Challa will play into Phase 3 on a grander scale as he doesn’t have much connection to other heroes or the cosmos is unclear, but I’m sure as always there is a very definite plan. Even if Black Panther is a bit less connected to the chaos, I won’t mind as his character will give us a very different movie than we’ve seen in the MCU and that is always a necessary requirement if these films are to retain their popularity.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 May 4th, 2018
The Infinity War is clearly going to be a large part of Phase 3. A large enough part that it will need two movies to navigate through the intricacies of the plot. It will inevitably include the Infinity Stones which we have been seeing since Phase 1. I don’t have much to say other than I’m excited about what this can potentially become. We’ll have a new, or at least partially new team leading as the Avengers. We’ll also see a threat that affects the entire universe.

Captain Marvel July 6th, 2018: Marvel has finally jumped in and gone for the female led superhero film. And boy is she a great superhero. Carol Danvers is an interesting character that seems to scream that she is going to do things her way and no one is going to get in the way to stop her. She’s a strong female character and it’ll be nice to see her take center stage. Sure, it was long rumored that she would be the first Marvel female to get her own film, but it’s a good thing to see if finally happen. Considering her ties to Kree, it wouldn’t be surprising if that is center stage to how she is drawn in to the entire conflict and everything going on since the events of Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.

The Inhumans November 2nd, 2018: Everyone out there clamoring for an Inhumans movie can finally calm themselves. However, the Inhumans movie would not be happening if Guardians of the Galaxy had not been such a success. Because one risk paid off, they are now able to take yet another risk. Inhumans as a movie has a lot of potential and it’s inclusion between Part 1 and 2 of the Infinity War movies makes perfect sense. It also makes sense after the Captain Marvel movie. The Inhumans stands to be an interesting endeavor with the lead character forced to communicate telepathically because his voice is a weapon. There are already rumors that Vin Diesel may play Black Bolt, leader of the Inhumans, but it is still too early to know. I for one can not wait to see the hair effects on Medusa.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 May 3rd, 2019
I don’t have anything other to say other than I hope the end of this movie is epic and sound as we will get ready to movie into Phase

Trailer Analysis – Avengers: Age of Ultron

1

After a long wait and being teased again and again at different expos and comic con finally we got to see the much awaited sequel of Avengers and the trailer was mind blowing. Certain bits and pieces in the trailer although unclear were worth noticing. I have watched the trailer again and again and finally here is a trailer analysis about how and what the movie is going to be.

Is there a superhero movie these days whose trailer doesn’t starts with a monologue. This is something that separates Comic Book movies different from other movies. Weather it is Zor’El monologue from Man of Steel or Steve Rogers and Alexander Pierce pep talk in The Winter Soldier it has been part of the comic books who the story shapes out. Here in Age of Ultron we get a similar monologue by our Villain Ultron voiced by the legendary James Spader whose voice sounds absolutely terrifying.

The monologue contains a number of moments, New York City in destruction and chaos and people running away from something (guess what). The clip soon cuts to another group of people who are standing protesting about something, I feel that the trailer sows the seeds for Civil War and these people are the ones demanding a registration act or something similar. Interesting part is that both Quicksilver and Scarlet witch are in this crowd of protesters. So again I am not sure whats going on.

1414079885635

The clip moves to show Ultron’s hand being covered in something metallic (Vibranium may be?) this happens somewhere in between of the film when Ultron finally arranges Vibranium and upgrades himself. We see more people shouting and then we see Captain America in between of a battlefield. He looks tired and broken followed by quick shot of Hawkeye. He seems he is back on evacuating duty like last time and then Thor’s hammer.

The shot cuts to the scene where a terrified Bruce Banner is sitting with Thor and Widow both of them look broken and tensed. But why is Dr. Banner so terrified that will make him crawl in his own space. This may be after his fight with Hulkbuster and he does something unfortunate that he is not supposed to. Anyways the whole trailer makes a point clear that Dr. Banner is in pain, he is terrified and running away from something.

avengers-2-age-of-ultron-trailer-leak-screenshot-bruce-banner1

Scene cuts to Ultron Mark 1 walking inside Avengers mansion that he seems to build himself from scraps of pervious Iron Man suits, he is such a party pooper. There are two unknown women in the party, one of them is Maria Hill, the other one I am not sure about though.

main3_Ultron_teaser03_zps8caa8596

avengers-2-age-of-ultron-trailer-leak-screenshot-iron-man-armor1

The interesting part is that no one seemed to notice is that there is already an Ultron Bot fallen on the floor that Ultron lifts and breaks it apart. Ultron has some major daddy issues, furious against his creator with a belief that Humanity is flawed and he can achieve perfection by killing them all. I am still not sure that what this bot is doing on the floor, maybe there was an attack by one of the Ultron Bots that Avengers or one of them took him down after which Ultron made an appearance or someone simple sucker punched one of the Starks personal security bots to show their might.

Marvel logo flashes on the screen while the creepy version of Pinocchio’s I’ve got no strings on me starts playing in background. We see Iron Man in a new suit in between of mountains, a fort that seems like a new Hydra base and Captain Rogers breaking a door and entering.

avengers-2-age-of-ultron-trailer-leak-screenshot-nick-fury-samuel-l-jackson1

These army guys never understand, they have to open fire at every alien or robot that descends and attack the city doesn’t matter if their bullets are not even going to touch them. We see army deployed in a city most probably NYC followed by more innocent civilians, a tank and then Bruce Banner running and falling on the snow, he is terrified and in pain. Is he having trouble controlling the monster inside him? May be.

From here we get our first introduction to the twins, it seems at some moment they’ll be working with Ultron before becoming the good guys.

A number of Ultron Bots appear from sea and make their way for the battle. I personally feel that these Ultron bots are not a part of Ultron’s army but the private security created by Tony Stark and SHIELD. They assist Avengers during the fight against HYDRA after which they become fully aware and it might be a result of Loki’s mind gem that is with Baron Stucker in the beginning of the film.

We see Avengers in the battlefield, Thor’s hammer falling on the ground that I believe is just a metaphor for defeat and he is not going to become unworthy so soon. Although I feel that Thor might die in this movie sowing seeds for Ragnarok where he has to escape Hel in order to protect Asgard.

We see couple of shots of Tony Stark, looking at a damaged Ultron Bot and then regretting about all the decision and the path he took. Stark always wanted to privatize world piece and Ultron might be his biggest mistake.

We soon move to what for me is most anticipated parts about this movie that is Hulk vs Hulkbuster. Hulk seems to be possessed, his eyes are red and nerves show up all around his arms and shoulders. He is angry and doing what is does the best, destroying a city until Stark intervenes.

Black widow jumps out of a quinjet riding a badass motorcycle followed by Quicksilver in a slo-mo scene fighting Ultron or a bot and saves Captain America. Even Scarlet Witch looks angry and all hexy (you see what I did there?)

Screen Shot 2014-10-22 at 7.35.04 PM 1

There are a few scenes that I am yet not able to understand. Steve Rogers is in some 1940 setting with a part going on, is there time travel involved? Is this one of the Ultron Visions or an illusion created by Scarlet Witch. We see water all dried up as ships stands still that seems like another distant future vision and what is Andy Serkis doing here? He might be playing Ulysses Klaw who’ll arrange for Vibranium for Ultron. This opens doors for Black Panther movie as the Serkis can play the Klaw’s sound version excellently in Black Panther movie with the mo-cap technology.

Even Thor seems deranged as he comes out of the water, I feel that Thor dies at some point and this is either Hel or Valhalla where he recovers in afterlife.

There is something going on between Black Widow and Hulk. May be she turns out to be his new calm down agent.

The death and destruction follows by a bunch of Ballerinas and then more death and destruction. We see Hawkeye in his Ronin suit running in the same snowy setting. In the next clip Thor lifts Stark by his neck, he probably doesn’t know that Destroyer armor is still in SHIELD custody and Thorbuster might be on the way.

We see the heroes fallen with Captain America’s shield broken in pieces and Thor’s hand next to it. Again this could be vision. Finally we see the Upgraded version of Ultron who declares that there are no strings on him.

If you look at the trailers closely the numbers and street signs vary from European to Asian that makes sure that the danger this time is worldwide rather than only NYC being in attack.

In short there is a lot going on in the movie, I wonder how Whedon will manage all of this. But I have my full faith in him.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE GREATEST SUPERHERO EVER!!

Captain america quotes

The greatest and the most popular heroes in comics and pop culture who represent the average humans with burden and responsibility are Superman, Batman, Spider-man and Captain America. They all are iconic and have a sense of responsibility to protect the innocent and help the weak at all cost. But of all of them I always believed that Captain America is the greatest and purest of all three and in this write up I’ll try to prove it. Because even if you don’t like the character, Captain America has to be admired and respected for being the person that he is and doing what only he can do.

Big time props should go out to Joe Simon and Jack Kirby for creating a truly inspiring hero for all kids to see in December of 1940 with Captain America #1 from Timely Comics (which would later become Marvel). In that era a character in comic books actually punched Hitler was a big deal. He was most popular and enduring in those days as a pop culture icon.

captain_america_quote_wallpaper_by_klutzyduck-d6vo4us

Captain America is one of the few who rose from this disabled kid who lived for patriotism of his country. He read the propaganda and he bought into it all the way. So much that he agreed to be part of an experiment that would allow him to “serve” his country as a supersoldier and help win the war and then realized the lies within the propaganda. But that didn’t stop him from loving his country and trying to live up to the values of what got him there, even if his own country didn’t stand behind them.

Captain America is again better than Superman who was the first true comic-book superstar risen from the pages of Action Comics #1 in 1938. Superman started the trend that followed later and put him up high in the pantheon of our modern-day heroes.

cap-america2

Superman’s biggest flaw is that he represent everything good. No one can beat him and he’ll always win over the wrong. This is what gives the character the biggest flaws compared to Captain America. Cap despite being a Super Soldier he is still a man. Despite being a weak kid from Boston who became a Super Soldier and a symbol of peace and freedom still has to train everyday to stay this way. His suit makes him a target of all enemies. He is the most respected and recognizable hero in the Marvel Universe who inspires a nation and even other super-powered beings as well as powerful Gods from far off fabled lands.

He can’t fly at super speeds, survive direct hits from atomic missiles and lift buildings over his head with ease. He is a human being who shows the common man that each of us possesses all the superpowers we need to be heroes ourselves. For this reason I shall always believe that Cap is a better “pure” hero than Superman.

Captain-America-The-Winter-Soldier-Speech

Another comparison is Batman who is just perfect. But he represents the darkness that Captain America can never embrace. Steve Rogers is not a rich kid like Bruce Wayne and whatever he has today is a result of his hard work and losses he suffered in the path. The two are very comparable when it comes to overall abilities, grit, determination and willpower. It’s anyone’s guess who really is the better (even though Cap is physically Batman’s superior). Both put their lives on the line against all comers and are usually the last ones left standing in battle. But that is where the comparison’s end. Batman uses fear, stealth, gadgets and his own plan regardless of what his teammates want also Batman is egoistic. Even Batman in the JLA/Avengers limited-series (2003-2004) steps back and is lead by, who else…Captain America!! Why? Because even he knew the Cap would do a better job than him. When it comes to pure RESPECT by his peers even Batman takes a back seat to Cap. This is why Cap is a much greater “pure” hero than even Batman.

2677627-captainamericacomics01

Spidey is a true hero because the superhero life has never been easy for him. People always loved Cap (most of the time) and Superman. They’re recognized as heroes, supported by the government, and their battles are usually straight up right vs. wrong. Spider-man’s life, on the other hand, would be much better if he stopped being a hero. Being Spider-man has made his life hell and he sees no reward from it and is even recognized as a criminal, but he keeps doing it because it’s the right thing to do. Spider-man is a symbol for overcoming adversity, not giving up, and doing the right thing even when it hurts you. And this is everything needed to be a truly great “pure” hero. But truth be told, Spidey is this way because of Captain America. He looks up to Cap as the living, breathing and fighting symbol of freedom and wants to be just like him. That’s the big difference between the two; Cap is doing what he will always do in the face of adversity because he has too and everyone around him knows it and is inspired by it! And Spider-man is one of those many faces in the crowd looking at Cap for that inspiration. Even though Spidey is a “pure” hero in every sense of the word, Captain America IS the hero he’s trying to be.

Captain-America-10-Essential-Comic-Book-Runs

Captain America is the symbol of hope in despair, light in darkness and yet everything wrong in the world that he stands against for. His morals, values make him what he is. He stood for vigilantes and masked superheroes in Civil War and ultimately took a bullet because he believed in his principles and his values didn’t allow him to take Tony Star’s side.
Steve Rogers truly deserves respect and is the purest and greatest Superheroes ever.

Movie Review – Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Cap Review 2

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the sequel to 2011 blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger and follows up after events of Avengers. Captain America:TWS is one of the strongest films by Marvel Studios.

The plot of Captain America: TWS is simply mindblowing, two years after cataclysmic events of The Avengers Steve Rogers is trying to blend into the current world and is working as a SHIELD agent at the same time. The film sets in Washington DC where Cap is currently living and in the first sequence we are introduced to Sam Wilson who will take on the mantle of Falcon as the film proceeds, Wilson who is also a war vet and involved in secret rescue missions apparently has his own post war issues as revealed when Rogers runs into Wilson at a P.T.S.D. support meeting.

fla

The first action sequence is well done and serves as a precursor to how much the choreography has improved in Cap’s fighting. Cap’ along with his S.H.I.E.L.D. partner Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson) and Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillow) on a rescue mission aboard a ship taken over by French pirates. From the moment Cap’ boards the ship we are treated to a more impressive Captain America than seen in both The First Avenger and the Avengers. He is faster, more hard-hitting, and utilizes his shield in more creative and effective ways. This action scene was so impressive a late movie goer stumbled right into the middle of Cap’s fight scene with the main pirate and mistaken it’s intensity for the ending of the movie.
These sequences are also littered with great rapport building between Romanoff (Black Widow) and Rogers which continues throughout the movie. What’s so effective about these moments between Romanov and Rogers is that it’s done in a not so cheesy way. They portray a genuine friendship consisting of quips, interest in each one’s personal lives, and friendship. What’s also effective about the collaboration between the two is that they play off one another’s differences to their advantage in the field.

When the movie gains pace and the plot slowly begins to come to life, we realize the SHIELD is changing for worse. SHIELD is on a project to eliminate threats even before they start acting like a threat. Captain America as per his nature stands against what SHIELD is planning and in process makes himself public enemy #1.

winter

Among the villains in this film, the Winter Soldier is the standout amongst them. He’s cold, ruthless, brutal, scary, and an unstoppable force. Even when he is not in the film, his presence is felt throughout the film and how he’s been working in the shadows throughout the history.

When we slowly come to know that SHIELD has been infiltrated by HYDRA among every rank, Captain America, Black Widow and Falcon fight their way with destroying the project insight and in process getting some cool Easter Eggs.

Another villain played by Robert Redford’s character Alexander Pierce is as menacing and threatening as one can get. For the amazing actor Robert Redford is he made his presence and mission clear since the start of the movie and will go through any means possible to achieve it.

Russo Brothers about whom everyone skeptical when they were announced as the movie directors because they had nothing huge in their profiles actually proved to be an excellent choice to direct this film. It is great that they’ll be returning for the third installment that comes out in 2016.

Overall Captain America is an experience of the lifetime and the most solid entry by Marvel Studios.
