Season Finale Review: Arrow

Much hyped Arrow season finale went over the top with a surprise character death, the good guys getting beaten up, and Merlyn’s evil plan to blow up the poor side of town actually succeeding.

Arrow although being a watered down version of Green Arrow proved that there is a lot to come and happen in next season. Oliver’s escape from Merlyn’s torture chamber was incredible. The whole sequence proves that Stephen Amell is so amazing with stunts.

The episode was followed by a number of surprise twists and turns including Oliver’s mother confessing her part in the scheme and warning the residents of The Glades to evacuate. This episode is followed by fast paced action and story sequence that a blink and you’ll miss something.

Diggle and Oliver go on to do battle with Malcolm Merlyn in his secret Chamber where Diggle is impaled by a dagger in his chest but anyways his sidekick is a lot tougher. The fight ends with Arrow stabbing himself in the chest injuring Merlyn in the process. A desperate move but it worked, and soon after they win, Merlyn reveals that there is one more slum destroyer hidden somewhere.

The show finishes with Tommy sacrificing himself to Laurel but we never saw in dying, did we?  Although I wonder whats up in season 2, I hope they finally bring superpowered characters on the show with Red Arrow or speedy becoming part of the show.

Overall season 1 was disappointing but this episode deserves special love
