The Stupidity Of Cancelling YOUNG JUSTICE

Warner Brothers is really started to become annoying by cancelling and sending excellent shows hiatus without any reason.DC Nation

I love DC Comics for the fact that they are doing excellent works in the field of animation. unfortunately the studio heads over at Warner Brothers have no Idea what they are doing. They cancelled Young Justice GL:TAS to make room for a Batman show and another Teen Titans show is more profitable, but they forget that its just plain idiotic.

They are bringing Teen Titans back in chibi form is even worse. It brings the fear of them using more annoying anime tropes that is plain non sense. The shorts for the “Teen Titans Go” were good as they were, and should be good enough for kids now and those nostalgic for the original.

beware the batman

Young Justice has been a great show so far, and has really been on the level of B:TAS and The Justice League and JLU series. Am I the only one who is sick and tired of Batman animated shows. There isn’t much else you can do with the character. The perfect animated series was the one from the 90’s and every iteration since has tried to copy it or go in a completely different direction.

teen-titans Teen-Titans-Go-Cartoon-NetworkThere are plenty of other DC properties that can be made into TV show. Warner Brothers! Do you want to know why only your Batman movies are making money? Why only Nolan can get money for you guys? You have put yourself in a position to where people think Batman is the only DC character that actually matters. Please WB learn how to handle comic book franchise adaptations.

COMICS: The Superiorly Creepy Spider-Man *Spoiler Alert*

After reading Spider-Man #700, I thought, “Ok, it’s super creepy that Ock gets to have a relationship with MJ without her ever knowing it’s not really Peter, and the ending is really cheesy.” The end of the Spider-Man we know and the age of a new Spider-Man. Think it would have been better to have Peter win in the end, but whatever.

BUT THEN!

Superior Spider-Man #1 happened. IMO the biggest cop-out I have ever read in comic history.

First off, Ock’s creepy way of talking about how he’s gonna get some from MJ in the book is quite freaking creepy and if it goes any further it would be super stupid. Another problem I have with this is that Ock keeps going out of character especially towards MJ and his attitude towards her goes from “I love you MJ” to “Shut up woman.” How does she not notice that?

Let’s focus on what this means for Spider-Man. So Ock takes Spider-Man to a level he’s never been before. He doesn’t hold back or play nice. He has no problem with going in and killing a super villain.Peter makes sacrifices again and again. Always checking his spider strength to ensure he doesn’t kill anyone, and Jonah despises him. Yet, when Spider-Man rips off the jaw of Scorpion Jonah’s like, “Hey, great job. Knew you had it in you kid.” What is this!?

So now Peter is back as a “ghost” like conscience fighting to take back control of his body. This sucks even more. I would rather see Peter dead, than have Peter have to sit in the passenger seat of his body while Ock ruins the name of Spider-Man,

I hope this nightmare is corrected with time whatever it takes. Rebosuperior-spider-man Superior_spiderman_1ot or Retcon.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 review

Batman_The_Dark_Knight_Returns_2 Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2i s the follow-up and conclusion to Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1.Based on Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” arc from 1986, this movie is the conclusion to what you watched in the first movie.

The story

We start where Joker has been ‘cured’ and is live on a Late Night TV show where is massacre all the audience. Gordon’s replacement, Yindel, places an arrest warrent on the Batman and Superman returns to Gotham.

Police consider him an outlaw, psychiatrists define him “a sociopath” who creates his own enemies and the people largely label him “a fascist”. With this base as a start, This movie, just like the last two chapters of the book, up the ante in just about every way possible. In Part 1, the action was about as brutal as Western animation has ever seen, with the rib-breaking, nose shattering, mud-hole operating fights setting a new bar for brutality. Part 2 takes on the challenge, and makes for some of the most memorable fights Batman’s ever been animated in. In fact, if there are some among you who aren’t familiar with this half of the story, and plan on watching this with young ‘uns, I’d have to recommend screening it for yourself first.

Voice

The voice cast is average. One not so minor problem is that Peter Weller is the absolute worst voice actor for Bruce Wayne/Batman and Michael Emerson (Lost, Person of Interest) is the absolute worst voice actor for The Joker that I’ve ever heard.

Animation

The animation is top notch and sharp. The action sequences are beautifully filmed and give pure justice to source material.

Major drawback is that this film suffers from terrible pacing and structural issues. The music isn’t as amazing or memorable as it was in the first film and due to this it turned underwhelming.

For me inner monologues are fine in comics( sometimes they are a little too much ) but a lot more of a challenge to do and do well in film( it can be done just a lot of times they aren’t ).

My Experience with 3rd Annual Comic Con India

Image

3rd Annual Comic Con was organized in Delhi as 3 day event that ran from 8th Feb to 10 Feb 2013 at Delhi haat. The event for us comic book fans was out of this world as usual, after all this is the only event that provides us with a platform to show our love for comic books and who are part of this sub culture.

This year’s Comic Con India was more commercialized in terms of merchandize instead of as usual focus on artists and creators. There were less comic books, less merchandize, lesser focus on the creaters and more T-shirts. There were T-Shirts and a lot of T-Shirts. I have no idea what is need of having so many T-Shirt selling companies who have nothing to do with Comic Books.

Delhi Haat as usual served as the venue for this event as well and from what I think is they should get another big space to handle the crowd next year. Also I have no idea why sell Manchester United and Metal T-Shirts at convention when the event is called Comic Con. Cosplay this year was better and improved than previous times and for me it was the best part of the event. Girls and kids specially were too excited to get clicked with Wolverine and Superman and rest of the folks.

Fans came dressed as comics characters were main attraction as usual. This time Comic Con India had 5 categories to increase one’s chances of winning gifts. Each day, one winner was chosen from each of five categories –
1. Comic book/Graphic novel
2. Animated Series/ Movie
3. Manga/Anime
4. Sci-Fi/ Fantasy
5. Gaming
And, One lucky winner out of the chosen 5 each day WON a TRIP to the Middle East Film & Comic Con to be held in Dubai in April.

Meeting Top Cow Production’s Matt Hawkins was the greatest pleasure of my life. It was just awesome. Its been so long since I got introduced to Top Cow Comics then slowly Witchblade and Cyberforce became my favorite. One stall that got my interest was Collectors Heritage which was selling famous merchandize from different movies but again the merchandize was too much costly for an average fanboy like me.

It was nostaligic for meet Neel Debdutt Paul, the editor of Tinkle Magazine. So many childhood memories flashed in my mind. It was also cool to meet Anant Singh from Campfire Graphic Novels. Also met Sandeep Kini, the creator of Angry Maushi and the acclaimed Holy Cow artist Vivek Goel.

After some 5 hours of fun and meeting lot of friends we returned from there. I just loved being there and I can’t wait for next Comic Con to happen.
