Why S.H.I.E.L.D. should play a role in the TASM trilogy.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to release on May 2, 2014 and will further expand the Spider-Man universe. In the sequel we will get to see Spider-Man origin unfold as to what happened to his parents. But ick Fury himself who has been such a huge part of Spider-Man’s legacy is missing from the story. For the many Spidey fans out there we know that Nick Fury recruited Peter Parker’s parents missions when they were C.I.A agents. So why not expand the MCU to the Spider-Man universe.

I’m sure Sony and director Marc Webb already know how they want the second and third installments to TASM to go but why not have a S.H.I.E.L.D. presence in those movies. It seems as though Sony and Webb are following the Ultimate story arc with Peter’s parents being biologists. In the end credits of Iron Man Nick Fury says to Tony Stark you think you’re the only superhero in town, you’re part of a bigger universe you just don’t know it yet, so wouldn’t Nick Fury be aware of a guy in a blue and red suit webslinging around New York fighting crime? Not to mention in the Avengers Black Widow says that S.H.I.E.L.D. monitors all potential threats, wouldn’t S.H.I.E.L.D. know about the events that took place between Spidey and the Lizard on top of Oscorp when Curt Connors tried to turn the people of New York into his own personal army of lizards.

Kevin Feige has stated that other studios owning movie rights to Marvel properties have contacted him if they can use S.H.I.E.L.D. in their movies and Feige seems open to the idea. Disney and Sony came close to having a deal that would allow the Oscorp building in the Avengers but fell through because of scheduling issues. Avi Arad has a good relationship with Feige and Marvel Studios who also seems hip to the idea of possibly having Spider-Man involved in the MCU and in return Disney and Marvel Studios allow Sony to use one of their Marvel properties, nothing serious just little cameos here and there. For example maybe Peter is on the train reading the Daily Bugle with Iron Man on the front page and some kid walks up to him and ask who would win in a fight between Spider-Man and Iron Man or have Spider-Man web slinging through the city and swings by Stark Tower. Like I said nothing major just small cameos or Easter Eggs here and there to acknowledge each others existence.

History of Indrajal Comics

Indrajal comics was launched in In March 1964 by the publisher of The Times of India, Bennet, Coleman & Co. Early issues were only The Phantom stories, but later they started publishing Mandrake, Flash Gordon, and Buz Sawyer.

Indrajal Comics started with a monthly schedule. The format was with 16-20 pages of main story and then 5 to 10 pages about general Knowledge and stuff. In 1981with issue #385 Indrajal Comics changed to a weekly schedule that lasted until 1989. The front cover design was also changed to unique Indrajal banner.  In the late 80s, two Indian characters Dara, the prince of the spies and Aditya, the man from nowhere were introduced.

Indrajal comics was one of the most popular comics along with Chandamama, Tinkle and Champak. The issues used to be 30-44 pages. It has passed hands from one generation to the other.

In late 90s the readership started to fall down and now not many kids know about it. While some families still have the issues locked away rest only have memories.

15 Characters To watch in 2013

Superior Spider-Man: My top fav in the list for a reason because Doc-Ock his ultimate nemesis switched bodies with Peter Parker who died in Doc’s body. Now Doc-Ock is operating as spider-man while Peter is out somewhere trying to get back in his body. It is most exciting to see how it ends up finally.Image

Cyclops: Charles Xavier’s biggest achievement turned into greatest failure and now mutantkind’s greatest hope is someone who is hated and loved for the same reason. There is a cyclops from the past trying to fix things and there is a cyclops who is here because of whatever he went through as young Scott. Lets see how this ends up. Also did I said Cyclops was right?

Aquaman: The king of Atlantis. The ultimate badass Aquaman’s status is somewhat as of Cyclops. People love him and the old school fanboys still find him laughable. But whoever falls in the second category should check out their opinions because he is now in the center of JLA and not ready to take no for an answer, not even Batman

Superman: The Trinity war begins this year Superman has always been the greatest character out there in comic world and with his return on Silver Screen he is definitely the character to look out for

Arcade: Welcome to murderworld was all he said and a dangerous game begin with stakes as high as everyone’s life. Arcade is the center of Murderworld and he is hosting a dangerous game with bunch of young heroes fighting to survive. Image
Star-Lord: Guardians of The Galaxy are back and with their big screen adventure due for next year they are going to receive the top most attention by Marvel in coming days. You should be watching what cosmic threat is plunging around this time.Image

Jean Grey: This time a young Jean Gray is back in the present timeline from the past and what she saw here is very much disturbing for her. While it brings back old memories and wounds for both Cyclops and Wolverine the knowledge about the fact that she dies a tragic death in her future keeps haunting her. What happens next is something to look out for.

Ultron: Three Words ” AGE OF ULTRON” screw Thanos, screw Loki and Screw Galactus. Ultron is the real danger here. In a continuity where he kills most of the heroes and accomplished his goal of fixing the ultimate error so now what. Ultron rules in an alternate universe and remaining heroes fight against him. If this is not the big thing then what else can be.

Pandora: Just mentioning her here so that she could finally fix all the crapfest that is going in the name of DC new 52

G.I Joe: Cobra’s one more mission failed last year and he has sworn revenge on GI Joes. He’ll be coming back with a vengeance. A major twist is already in rumors and a much delayed sequel to the disappointment called G.I Joe movie is finally coming out this year.

Thor: Much successful 2011 movie Thor’s 2nd outing will hit theaters this year in november with is being directed by Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor. Thor’s much acclaimed comic series is already in news with The God Butcher running rampant. Three ages, Three Thor and one badass villains. What else do you want?

Constantine: After bidding farewell from vertigo imprint and kid friendlier version of Constantine is here who is not foul mouth and probably doesn’t smoke. With a new era starting in history of this character it would be cool to see how DC follows the legacy.

The original Star Wars crew: what Dark Horse has in store for us in 2013 hasn’t been seen since its brilliant Dark Empire series that premiered more than 20 years ago. And even though you might think Disney will take its time with its first new Star Wars project, we wouldn’t be surprised if we see some other Star Wars projects released from Disney by end of 2013.

The Riddler: Few people can make Batman’s life hell as much as possible. He is not yet mentioned in new 52 but hints are being dropped around that he’ll be back in Batman’s life at some point in this year. Also another Arkham game will be dropping by the end of this year so it would be interesting to see if Riddler is still the mastermind or someone else takes his place.

ImageJustice League Dark: Dark Universe movie being planned by Del Toro is something I am waiting for and the team adventures taking places in darkest corners of DC Universe is treat with every issue. Image

007 James Bond Skyfall review

Skyfall the latest 007 movie came out last year and here is the review for it. 007 is the pioneer of action genre for a long time and being the longest franchise in film history it needs to prove why it should continue to be one. Each film has the burden of justifying its existence to the audiences, specially the modern ones.

Although I hated the fact that trailers spoiled the opening but I guess they had no intention of keeping it secret. Even so, between the lack of the iconic gun barrel shot and the spoiled pre-title sequence, it wasn’t the best way to open the movie.

Every Bond movie, regardless of the generation, with expectation that is only broken twice or thrice, only in small proportions. Sam Mendes as director added a lot of skills to the movie from the start. The gadgets, girls, guns, cars, wit, drinks, exotic locations and grand action sequences well designed and planned. This one is a classic Bond movie made to fit well with current generation’s moviegoers.

Javier Bardem plays “Raoul Silva”, a former Mi6 agent and technological terrorist who has a personal vendetta against M. In the 90s, he was tortured to madness afterbeing traded for 5 other agents. As a villain he was great, menacing and creepy as hell – a great callback to Francisco Scaramanga, Alec Trevelyn, and James Bond from “The Man With The Golden Gun” novella. The backstory he provides Bond with when they first meet and then the first confrontation with M were simply crazy.

While there were Bond girls but here the woman he devotes the most attention and affection for is M. The women of this generation are portrayed as intelligent, not as supermodels clad in bikinis with eastern European accents. Naomie Harris may not be Bond’s equal out in the field, but she is equally competent. M is kind of a maternal figure for Bond which was even said in previous film. She represents integrity, her values and philosophy that her own government believes to old-fashioned. In this, she fits perfectly with the central theme of the movie, and is probably the most relevant “Bond Girl” to date, if she could be called that.

Back in days the only equipment Bond was ordered to carry on his assignments was a Walther PPK, replacing his Beretta. Later Q team equipped 007 with all kinds of gadgets that were disguised to look like any other object with a nasty or useful surprise inside. Cars were armed machine guns, rockets, oil slicks, and even a passenger ejector seat. But this generation again goes the old school, for good. Bond gets a palm-printed Walther which only he can fire, as well as a simple radio distress beacon. One cute easter egg is the return of the Aston Martin from “Goldfinger” towards the end. As for Q  although I think he was miscast but I still consider his importance of being younger in this story.

Skyfall is a brilliant, brilliant addition to the franchise, one of the best movies of the series, easily one of the best movies of the year and also the best way conceivable to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this national treasure. Lets just hope they don’t keep us waiting for another 4 years!

Things wrong with Amazing Spider-Man #700

The 700th and final issue of Marvel Comics’ Amazing Spider-Man gave us the outcome of the body-switching Dying Wish storyline revealed last month in issue #698. Doctor Octopus’s mutated and badly beaten body, with Peter Parker’s consciousness stuck inside, died.

So Spider-Man is kinda dead.

So now its Peter Parker’s body with Doc-Ock’s mind and so he is from now onwards Superior Spider-Man. So while shifting the character change on the biggest and in the lamest way possible I came up with few issues.

1.I got no money for writing this post: How stupid is that?

2.Hype of the biggest level: Comic books, these days hype some event like that is the greatest thing going to happen, this is the way comic book companies attract mainstream non-nerds. This hype becomes stupid and boring for regular readers after a while.

3. Price Tag: I mean $7.99? That too where story is not even for half page. That makes some 500 Indian Rupees, that is way too much for a comic book.

4. Nothing more bad and heartbreaking than ending a series after 700 issues:  #700 looks cool on cover but in reality it is just plain harsh. A successful run of 700 issues is a great accomplishment.

5. Say no to Dark Spider-Man: Spider-Ock refuses to hold back, he is harsh and even knocked Scorpion’s jaw out. This sounds cool and stupid at the same time.

6. Ok Octopus’ consciousness in Spider-Man’s body: Otto switched bodies with Peter and now he is haunted by Peter’s memories that apparently brought a change of heart in him. Now Spock or Spider-Ock is on way to become Superior Spider-Man.

But he is still a bad guy, Spider-Man fans have taken all kind of crap from Marvel in form of One More Day and The Clone Saga but this will simply take away people’s interest away from Spidey comics.

7. Crazy Fanboys: How plain stupid is to send death threats to a writer for killing off a fictional character. If you want to protest stop buying his comics books but sending someone death threats on internet is uncalled for.

8. This issue is simply boring and annoying and confusing:  Peter Parker is the Spider-Man and always will be, no delusional mad scientist can take his place.

To put the mind of a psychotic, washed-up mad scientist – and a senior citizen to boot – in the body of one of the world’s greatest super-heroes is, at best, a risky move, but expecting the public to accept this new status quo as permanent? That is just plain arrogant of Marvel. Say what you will about comic book fans, but we’re not all stunted men-children living in our parents’ basement – and we’re not all willing to dance to whatever tune Marvel Comics feels like playing for us.

9.  Beware Rant coming.

Why is Silver Sable in Peter’s heaven when he was told she’s still alive?

Why did his clothes change in the dream?

Does Peter seriously think Ben would kick him out for letting him die?

So Doc Ock gets goaded on by J. Jonah Jameson, really?

Why doesn’t Carlie believe Ock when he says he answers her questions about Spider-Man?

Sanjani looks like a ten year old.

It’s spelled “dawdling”.

Robbie and Urich look ten years younger.

No Betty Brant in the “Loved Ones” group.

The Avengers security system recognizes Spider-Man as soon as “he” says it will.

Gargan thinks Aunt May is “lovely”.

What’s Ock’s end goal here after he beats Spidey?

Those are really it. It was an entertaining issue for the most part, and were this anything other than the 700th and the final I’d roll over some problems. However there are some central ones that cause me to pause.

*Rant Ends*

Still I’ll be waiting for Superior Spider-Man. I guess Peter Parker will be back before The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters. Lets see, after all no one stays dead in comic book.  8312663221_f7855aac0c

Justice League Movie 2015: What we know so far.

There’s some fresh info (rumours) running through the movie mills about what DC/Warner are planning for their long-long-long-awaited Justice League movie. With Man Of Steel set to come out this year, you might be getting a solid release date by end of this year.

Earlier we got info that the movie will have Darksied a the main baddie whom Justice Leauge will be fighting. This sounds like attempt to juice out Thanos’s involvement in Avengers which normal movie going fans may or may not like. For those who don’t know, Darkseid (one of the “New Gods”) has an almost Shakespearean background: born to the royal family of the hellish world of Apokolips, Darkseid attempted to slay his own older brother and seized the “Omega Force,” a power which transformed him into a stone-like man who mercilessly rules Apokolips and is one of the most powerful beings in the DCU. The storyline that this movie is rumored to follow is Crisis on New Genesis which itself requires a lot of backstory

There were some fresh info from Cosmicbooknews as well from Latino Review lying around, so here we go.

• Superman is essentially the same character from Man of Steel, and Zack Snyder is consulting regarding the writing of the character.

• Batman: The strategist of the group. Batman doesn’t really want to be involved with these super powered beings he considers too powerful. Easily the most complex written.

• Wonder Woman: She has only been in man’s world a few short months. The Wonder Woman script Michael Goldenberg is developing will be set before the Justice League movie.

• Green Lantern: Will be Ryan Reynold’s character from the Green Lantern movie, but will be freshly written with a more serious tone.

• Flash: The most popular hero in civilian eyes who loves media attention, but when called upon is very serious.

• Martian Manhunter: Alien who has lived on Earth in secret for over a hundred years who has knowledge of Darkseid and his reign.

• Aquaman: Will be the King of Atlantis who has a key role in the film.

• There will also be a heavy military presence in the film which in future rewrites could include characters featured in Man of Steel or even Amanda Waller (Angela Bassett) of which neither are included in the first draft.

• Alfred Pennyworth is in the film in a minor appearance.

• Lois Lane is also in the film in a cameo.

• Darkseid’s Elite will be featured who go up against the Justice League early on in the film.

There is some interesting stuff we can figure out from these rumors, and while there is still a risk that this movie wont stand in front of Avengers and will eventually become a rip-off there is nothing wrong in keeping high hopes.  Bane-Vs.-Batman-Comic-Book
